At least 21 deaths have been reported and insured damage is estimated between $1.5 billion and $3 billion (USD).Dean is the first hurricane to make landfall in the Atlantic basin at Category 5 intensity in almost 15 years; the last storm to do so was Hurricane Andrew on August 24, 1992.

This ghostly, ethereal image is amazing to watch. It is an image that LOOKS real, but isn’t. A model cloaked in gossamer veils, moving, dancing in a haunting pattern. Cool. But what makes it REALLY great, is that is is made using Cheoptics from what can be seen (mainly concerning the triangular structure of the 3-D screen.)
This is a great use of light and holographic images. Imagine having this in the middle of the shopping mall—images that don’t even exist, but seem real. Brandvertainment anyone? This embodies the potential impact to the consumer shopping experience.
